Ray White Partners with Greater Springfield
A quarter of a century after selling Maha Sinnathamby the site of what would become Greater Springfield, the Ray White Group is again partnering with Springfield Land Corporation for another key phase in Australia’s largest master-planned community and only the second of its kind behind Canberra.
The 2860ha original site of Greater Springfield was sold to Maha Sinnathamby and Bob Sharpless by Ray White Commercial in 1990. Now nearly 32,000 people live in the award winning Greater Springfield project. Built against a design that incorporates health, education and information technology, the equivalent population is forecast to reach 138,000 by 2030.
Springfield Land Corporation has now appointed Ray White Special Projects (Qld) to market a new 6ha detached housing development site in the popular Greater Springfield suburb of Augustine Heights.
Maha Sinnathamby recently escorted Ray White Chairman Brian White on a personal tour of Greater Springfield and he said he was delighted the two family companies will be working together again.
“I have always remembered the professionalism shown by Ray White in the sales process for the original site and it’s fantastic that we have the opportunity to partner for this exciting Augustine Heights development,” he said.
“Greater Springfield has been a nation building exercise that has involved many highly successful partnerships that together has opened up this region to be the fourth fastest growing in Australia and we are delighted that Ray White is again part of this.”
Greater Springfield is growing by as much as $600 million per annum across six suburbs at a rate of 18 per cent.
Brian White said he was hugely impressed by the sheer scale and quality of Greater Springfield with almost $12 billion invested in the project to date and an estimated cost of $85 billion on completion.
“The progress of Greater Springfield has been staggering with the 390ha CBD land area twice that of Brisbane and even larger than Sydney,” he said.
“The master-planned community has passed a number of important milestones. These include the recent opening of the Mater Private Hospital Springfield, the rail connection to the Brisbane CBD, the opening of the Orion Lagoon as well as the planned $550 million Dusit Thani Resort Brookwater.”
Ray White Special Projects (Qld) Director Mark Creevey said the residential development site at Augustine Heights was located just off Augusta Parkway and within 500m of the prestigious Greg Norman-designed Brookwater golf course.
“This will be a premium housing estate which is walking distance of Brookwater Village and the Mater Health Centre and approximately 1km from Springfield Central rail station,” Mr Creevey said.
Ray White Special Projects (Qld) Director Tony Williams said the site was zoned residential.
“Augustine Heights is already one of the most sought after locations not only in Greater Springfield but in the Brisbane region as it is a picturesque community surrounded by natural bushland and close to schools, childcare, shops and transport,” he said.
The Augustine Heights site is being offered for sale via Expressions of Interest, closing on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
